Seasalter is a residential village on the west side of Whitstable, hemmed in by the sea, the Seasalter Flats marshland and the A299, which is why more housing there is unlikely. It is now part of the unparished area of Whitstable.
The 2021 Census counted 3,403 households in the Seasalter ward. Half live in detached houses, about 33% in semis, 8% in terraces and 4% in flats. The ward also recorded 143 households in a caravan or other mobile structure. A park home or caravan is a different job from a house, so tell us early if that is you, and we will say honestly what is and is not possible.
With open marsh and sea to the north and west, roofs here get plenty of sky and plenty of wind. We found no conservation area record with the Seasalter name in the council's planning data. For a house that already has solar, adding a battery is often the simplest next step, and the battery-only page shows the sums.
What we check at your address
